Homespun is just round the corner...

Hello All,

We are very excited to be inviting you to our first ever HANDMADE craft fair!

It is all good fun and we have found some great people with amazing talents!!!

I will also have my own stall on the day, which will feature my eco friendly greeting cards alongside some new home made "Vintage" style products and designs.

There will also be face painting and a drawing competition for the younger crowd and cream teas will be served in vintage china which will hopefully add to the atmosphere!

Be great to see you all there!!!!!

HomeSpun available to buy at Matalan

It gives me great pleasure in telling you all that one of my images has been picked for the new collection of 'Wall Art' at Matalan. Its still in production at this time so I haven't been able to get my hands on the finished article but Im sure you'll hear about it when I do.
Its always been an ambition of mine to have my work up on peoples walls and now I can cross this off my list! I would love you all to buy a copy of it and then I can have the greatest selling piece of art that Matalan has ever had!!

A delicious vintage day

A couple of weekends ago was the baptism of my niece Niamh.. Niamh was honored to wear a handmade christening gown that has been worn over 14 times and is over 100 years old.
So this picture of Niamh and her great granny is perfect!

The picture isn't close enough to see the exquisite needlework. Thanks to granny for preserving it all these years..
Once the service finished, we headed off to Crouch End for the reception which was held in Matt and Rozzi's garden. Niamh’s mum, Rozzi, has a sumptuous collection of vintage china which was going to be perfect to set the scene for the vintage inspired reception.
We arrived to sunshine, a beautifully dressed table, matching bunting, and delicious homemade food.

As I mentioned a little earlier, Rozzi has an extensive range of fine bone china and mis-matched vintage crockery and is available for hire out too so if you are planning a party (intimate tea party, wedding, hen ....), please have a look at her lovely website and contact her http://rozamelia.co.uk/

Rozzi will also bring along some of her vintage crockery to Homespun on Saturday 1st October and will provide tea, fresh coffee and a lovely vintage treat for us all! Very exciting.

Sunday evening blog

It’s been a little while since my last blog, but I have been very busy, busy feeling sorry for myself... just about standing today from a long stretch of laryngitis, after 4 days in bed and losing the will to live.. Despite still looking like a guinea pig, today life is good!!
By the way, the shop Beanies had received all my cards on time and their opening launch was a huge success.
It isn’t necessary to travel to South London anymore to view or even purchase my cards as from next week the shop ’La Provence’ in Sawbridgeworth, will be storing them too.
La Provence is located in a beautiful 14th Century cottage on Bell Street, the shop has a French theme and you can purchase linen, pottery, furniture, interior, clocks, flower, French soaps and body creams etc etc.. A knitting club also runs every Friday morning.

You can sip freshly brewed coffee, whatever the weather, in their great south facing courtyard garden and indulge cream teas and handmade cakes in the relaxing French style tea room... It is a lovely place and a visit is highly recommended.

Life is just like a bowl of fruits..

Eat, Play, Learn, Party, Pamper and Shop..
An exciting new venture to open very soon in Croyden...  Beanies will be a meeting place for friends and families: a haven for parents, a learning adventure for children and an environment in which babies can flourish.

You will also be able to shop a little bit differently as they offer an alternative to the high street. They have handpicked a selection of "super talented artists and designers" to supply their shop - they wrote this, not me!!! so I have a big smile on my face after Karen Cartright, the owner, just placed a big order from Lo Creations (me) ... the not so good news is that I have less than 2 weeks to prepare the stock.. better go!!!!!

But before I disappear behind my sewing machine, here are a couple of items, which will be available at Beanies from 1st of June.

Not eaten enough chocolate this Easter?

Tomorrow Im having all the family around for an Easter BBQ, I thought it would be lovely to make some delicious Chocolate muffins for all to enjoy. These muffins are extremely easy to make and only took 30mins including prep time, so you dont have to be 'Nigella' to be able to create these delicious treats!! (click on the recipe below to enlarge)

Have a look at my photos, instead of using muffin cases I have used square bits of tissue paper, cheaper and definitely more pretty don't you think?

Céline Hannotin AKA « Knut » creates as well as bags, beautiful astracts paintings. A very talented French artist presents her creations on her online shop http://www.laboutiquedeknut.com. The site has an English language option and Céline speaks perfect English... so nothing should be stopping you...
